Tennessee tops Florida 67-56

Florida went on the road to take on a struggling Tennessee team as Southeastern Conference play began. An 11 a.m. start time didn?t do the Gators any favors, as the defending SEC champs sleep-walked into a buzzsaw.

Tennessee (8-7, 1-0 SEC) played aggressive defense, and the lethal Florida (12-4, 0-1 SEC) offense never got into sync, allowing the Vols to blow open the game in the second half in a 67-56 win.

?Regardless of how you?re being guarded, there?s always things that are open, there?s always things that you can do,? coach Billy Donovan said on the Gator Radio Network. ?We did not recognize what was open, what was available.?
